Introducing Me

My World in Words

Welcome to my new blog.
I wasn't sure how I wanted to start this all, but I figured introducing myself and what I plan to post here would be the best way. 
First off, my name is Spiryt (hence the blog title). I love to read and write and fangirl, which basically is my plan for this page. I love to connect with people about the things that I love, so I thought I would try that on a new platform of a blog. I have a couple (five of them, I have a problem tbh) Instagrams for my various interests. My favorite part about social media is connecting with people and building amazing communities. 
And that is just what I want to do here.

 I titled this post "My World in Words", because that's what my world is, words. I read and I write and I listen. I live and breathe words. Words have always been the most important and powerful influencer on my life. They can change everything. They can affect how you think, how you feel, how you see. Words are the foundation of my life, and likely of yours too even if you don't know it. My love of words is something I hold very dear to my heart and will for the rest of my life.

 As for what content I will be posting, to be honest, I don't completely know. I will post what I love. Once a week on Sundays, I will write about book and movie reviews, writing updates, life experiences and more. I want to be completely myself on here, not just show little bits and parts of me.
So if that interests you, welcome to my little corner of the Internet.

 Now that all that is out of the way, let's get to the fun part.
If you're going to be reading about me, might as well get to know me, so I am starting off with a classic facts about me page.

 19 Facts About Me
  1. I am a Ravenclaw.
  2. Taylor Swift is my favorite musical artist, and I look up to her in so many ways.
  3. My favorite book of all time is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It is the most beautiful story and I truly believe everyone should read it. It is the book that opened my eyes to the power of words.
  4. I have two tattoos: a Mickey Mouse on my ankle and the word always with a Deathly Hallows symbol on my arm. I only have two now, but I plan on getting many more.
  5. In University, I am a Nursing Major, but I also would love to be a published author someday. 
  6. Belle is my favorite princess. She loves books just as much as I do, I cannot help but relate to her and love her.
  7. I am a huge fan of television (when I can actually find the time to watch any), but my all time favorite show is Doctor Who. The sense of wonder and excitement that comes with traveling through all of time and space cannot be beat by anything else. My favorite Doctor is David Tennant because he really helped me fall in love with the show for the first time. Then my favorite companion is Rose (when I met Billie Piper I cried A LOT) because her storyline is just so beautiful and heartbreaking. (Although Clara is a very very close second.)
  8. I feel like almost any bad day can be fixed with a hot relaxing bubble bath. 
  9. I drink a lot of coffee. Like Gilmore Girls level, I drink a lot of coffee. (My usual Starbucks order is an Iced Coffee with caramel syrup and half and half.)
  10. One day, I want to travel the world. To name a few, I want to go to Ireland, England, Germany, Italy, New Zealand and Australia. But there are so many more places. 
  11. This past November I succeeded in writing 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo and I have never been more proud of myself. I cried. (extra fun fact: I am a crier. I cry when I am happy, when I am sad, when I am frustrated, you name it and I have probably cried with it.)
  12. Related to the last one, the last time I cried (like full on sob) was when I went and saw Coco for the second time. That movie is so good yet so sad. I love it.
  13. I am a really big nerd for film scores, like I listen to them all the time. A movie would be nothing without its score so I love to appreciate them. 
  14. My 2018 Goodreads goal is 81 books (a number suggested by my sister).
  15. I have one biological sister, but many others who I consider my sisters. Like Supernatural says, "Family don't end with blood." There are so many people I consider my family, blood relation or not. 
  16. I love Comicon. I am a huge nerd and being surrounded by other nerds for a whole weekend is an absolute dream. I also love that it gives me the opportunity to meet celebrities that I love so much. (Including: Sean Astin, Mark Sheppard, Mark Pellegrino, Bonnie Wright, Bille Piper, Karen Gillan [twice], Sean McGuire, Alex Kingston, James Marsters, Osric Chau and Timothy Omudson. I'm hoping that list offers you some insight into what a nerd I am).
  17. If I could go anywhere right now, it would be home. And then Disneyland.
  18. The movie I have seen the most times is either Goblet of Fire or Tangled. Sort of a weird combination but it's true. While the book I have read the most times is almost undoubtedly Breaking Dawn. (I am a huge Twilight fan and I am not ashamed of that.)
  19. Last fact. Wow. I have zero ideas left... actually, I love lists. I love to make to do lists, goal lists, packing lists. Any and all lists. So this is a fitting last fact to my facts about me list.
