The Magic of Musicals

For so long, musicals have held such a special place in my heart. I was never a theatre kid or a performer, but the magic in musicals still called to me in a different way. 

My favorite part of any music is how it tells a story, and musicals are an unique way to tell so many beautiful stories through music. 

When I was twelve, I heard the Wicked soundtrack for the first time at a friend's house and I was mesmerized. The Wicked soundtrack propelled me through most of junior high, other than Taylor Swift it was almost all I listened to.  

After Wicked, I discovered Rent and Newsies. 

Even if the story takes place in a fantastical world or in a time years ago, these musicals all have an emotional core that can be felt by anyone anytime.

Through my years in high school and on, I found even more musicals to fall in love with. Les Mis. Hamilton. Finding Neverland. Hamilton. And so many more. 

 

Over the years, I have come to love so many musicals and I wanted to share them all with you. 

I hope you can find the magic in them like I do.
