Things Non-readers Say That Annoy Readers
Hello,
If you clicked on this blog, you can probably relate to the fact that some people just do not understand what it means to be a reader. Reading is my favorite thing to do and I have always loved to do it, and sometimes I cannot understand why everyone doesn't love it.
So for today's post, here a fun list of things non-readers say that annoys the rest of us readers.
- Reading is so boring. (Really? Boring? You call defeating the Dark Lord boring? Or how about traveling to the Underworld to meet Hades, God of Death?)
- Why don't you just watch the movie? (Uggghhh. The book is better. Don't get me wrong, I love a movie adaption, but I will always try and read the book first.)
- Why do you read so much? (Idk why do you breathe so much?)
- I don't like to read because there's no good books to read. (I 100% believe everyone can love to read if they only find the right book for them. And there is a right book for everyone.)
- Audiobooks aren't reading. (Yes. They. Are.)
- Your life must be boring if all you do is read. (I kid you not, someone actually said this to me. See #1 as to why this is wrong.)
- Wow, people still read these days? (Yes, believe it or not, we are all not all glued to our phones to keep up with the Kardashians. Some people still read.)
- Do you need to buy more book? (Yes. Go away.)
- Are you reading? (Someone asks while I am very obviously reading. Do not interrupt while I am reading.)
- Aren't young adult and juvenile books for little kids? (Maybe some are targeted for kids, but why should that stop me from reading them? Read whatever makes you happy.)
- Why haven't you read *insert book here*? (I can read whatever I want to read.)
Relatable? I will never understand non readers, to be honest. Reading is the most magical hobby. It can bring to anywhere in time and space. You stalk Jack the Ripper, fly throughout space with a badass band of girl space pirate, fall in love with Mr. Darcy, learn transfiguration from Professor Mcgonagall, and so so many more things.
So ignore everyone who tries to put you down for reading, and just pick up another book.
Happy reading, all.
